What is Affiliate Membership?

Becoming an affiliate member is where it all starts to gain access to exclusive events. For £5 a month, you become part of a growing community of people from all backgrounds coming together through target sports.

Membership is open to anyone aged 18 and over. You do not need any prior experience, a firearms licence, or any equipment to join. We welcome complete beginners and experienced shooters alike.

We are a registered Community Interest Company (CIC), fully insured, and connected to all relevant national governing bodies. We operate to Home Office standards as a shooting club, with qualified safeguarding officers and instructors across all disciplines.

What You Get Access To

Your £5 monthly membership gives you access to exclusive member events across our core disciplines:

  • Archery

  • Air rifle

  • Clay shooting

  • First aid training

Events range from beginner and introductory sessions through to advanced and competition-level training. Some events are discipline-specific, some are mixed. Everything is clearly listed per event so you always know what you're signing up for.

On top of your membership, you pay separately for any events you wish to attend. Most events are priced around £20. Some specialist or advanced sessions involving external training suppliers, long range shooting, or international level training can range from £200 to £300 or more. All pricing is listed clearly with each event.

How Events Work

We run a minimum of one event per month. Events are held at local ranges, community centres, and venues within our partner network across West London and South England.

You do not have to attend every event. The more you attend, the more you will develop and the more connected you will be with the SSA team, but there is no attendance requirement.

Upcoming events are planned and shared a few weeks in advance so you can plan around them.

Under-18s and family events: Membership is for adults aged 18 and over. However, certain events are family-friendly and allow members to bring under-18s at an additional ticket cost. These events are clearly labelled.

Guests: Guests are not permitted at standard events. Limited guest days will be available on occasion and will be clearly advertised.

Everything is in person. We do not currently offer online or remote content.

How to Apply

Applications open on Saturday 1st August 2026. You will receive a link by email on that date.

The application form is thorough. As a shooting club operating under Home Office guidelines, we are required to maintain records of all members and may be required to share information with the police or Home Office. We ask for:

  • Full personal details

  • Your reasons for joining

  • Any existing experience or licences you hold

  • Any relevant criminal history

  • Answers to standard Section 21 firearms questions

A code of conduct will be shared as part of the application. By applying, you agree to its terms.

All applications will be reviewed and processed by 14th August 2026. You will receive an email confirming approval or, if unsuccessful, an explanation. We will always speak to applicants directly before a rejection is confirmed. We welcome all applicants regardless of background and assess each application individually.

Once approved, you will be invited to set up your monthly membership payment and gain full access.

Training & Certifications

We offer a structured training and certification programme across all disciplines. Training is separate from your monthly membership and is available as specific courses and sessions.

Our programme covers safety, competency, and competition-level training, with a clear progression pathway from beginner through to advanced and instructor level.

We work with various national governing bodies to deliver qualifications. As members progress, there is also a pathway to becoming a qualified SSA instructor and delivering events as part of our team.
